Since the launch of the original Game Boy Advance, the GBA system has been released in several incarnations:

Game Boy Advance SP This update introduced a folding clamshell design, rechargealbe lithium ion battery (no more AAs), and, as an answer to the original GBA's biggest flaw, a display backlight.

Game Boy Micro This super compact system measures just 4 inches wide, 2 inches long and 0.7 inches thin and is easier to always have with you for on the go gaming.
